Raw Food Diet Recipes: Spicy Yam Chips
There are many different raw foods chip recipes out there, but this is by far my favorite. Try to cut the yams a thinly as possible for the best results – a mandoline slicer or food processor can help do this if you have one at hand.
If you don’t care much for spiceness, you can also leave out the cayenne or reduce the amount in the recipe. Or for those who can’t get enough spice, you can also increase the amount!
Ingredients:
6 yams (or sweet potatoes, but yams are generally sweeter)
1/3 cup cold-pressed olive oil
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon powdered cumin
Instructions
1. Slice the yams as thinly as possible using a food process or mandoline.
2. Mix together the olive oil and spices, and pour this over the yams.
3. Mix well to make sure each yam slice is coated with the oil and spice mixture.
4. Dehydrate until crispy (usually at 115°F for about 12 hours).
Enjoy!
