Raw Food Diet Recipes: Sunburgers

One of the things I initially found I missed the most when on a raw foods diet was comfort foods like veggie burgers (as a vegetarian, previously, I didn’t care for the meat versions). Here is one of the best recipes I know of for a raw foods equivalent. It relies on dehydration, which at low temperatures (under 118 degrees) will maintain the integrity of the raw foods.

Here is the basic ingredients for these Raw Foods Sunburgers:

2 C sunflower seeds, soaked 6-8 hours
1/2 C carrots
1/2 C celery
3 green onions, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1/4 C fresh basil
1/4 C frsh parsley
Braggs, to taste

Instructions:

Process all ingredients in a food processor. Shape into small patties and then dehydrate at 105 degrees for 12-24 hours (or until dry).
Easy and yummy!
